They didn't call it "Magoland" for no reason you know.
So to explain some of the things I talk about:
- For my setup at this time, I had my switch connected my laptop via a cheap (like 20$ USD) hdmi-input usbA-output capture card, and to play on my monitor I put up a fullscreened obs preview. All that gave me about a half-second of gameplay lag, which is why I didn't try to play any sub-games or challenge rooms (I had trouble with the goal game of all things, even if got the timing pretty well by the end). For reference, I played Star Slam Heroes in Star Allies beforehand to test out the delay, and it took me about 5 tries to beat the CPUs (and normally I can get max score easily). Bought an hdmi splitter, hoping that'll let me stream and play on the monitor w/o any notable lag.
- I was testing out some new internet settings, which is why you hear me bring up frame drop rates every 5 seconds. Overall I was dropping around 5-10% of frames, and considering I stream at a pretty high bitrate (6000 kb/s) and at 60 fps, I think that's ok enough to justify keeping the new settings (they help enough in other areas that I would rather have the frame drops than lose the new settings). You shouldn't see any frame drops here on YouTube because I always record locally and upload that rather than the vod from twitch directly.
