The Virginia Aquarium, in coordination with state and local government and public health officials, will take the first steps to reopen and welcome guests back starting June 19. The health and safety of our guests, staff, volunteers, and animals are our top priority. With this in mind, we’ve established some important and temporary changes you need to know before visiting. What is New or Changing at the Aquarium?
- Require online reservations/timed tickets to create a touch-free payment process
- Limit visitor attendance with timed tickets (Members & General Public)
- Guests 10 & older, staff & volunteers required to wear face coverings (following City & State guidance)
- Use floor signage to help maintain six-foot distances between groups standing in lines
- Create one-way paths throughout the Aquarium
- Provide signage to encourage social distancing throughout the Aquarium
- Provide additional hand sanitizing stations around the Aquarium
- Increase sanitation procedures for high-contact surfaces in the Aquarium
- No reservations from 1 – 2 pm each day for thorough cleaning and sanitation
- Comply with all state and local regulations concerning COVID-19
