Welcome back to Library Dispatch, my weekly reading update full of dark fantasy, horror, witchy vibes, and autumnal reads! This week’s stack brought everything from brutal medieval redemption arcs to haunted-house horror and slasher stories with heart - perfect fall reads.
I finished Between Two Fires (dark, redemptive, unforgettable), The Isle in the Silver Sea (mythic and lyrical, but uneven), and The Autumn Springs Retirement Home Massacre (a slasher with surprising warmth). I also DNFed The Late Night Witches.
Right now, I’m reading House of Leaves (the definition of strange and unsettling) and The Everlasting (lush, gothic, and full of emotion). Plus, a quick book mail update - Slayers of Old has arrived and I can’t wait to read it next week!
