Meteorologist Ashley Renee has your 8:15 am forecast. Good morning everyone and happy Wednesday! We've been dealing with drought conditions again over the last couple of weeks so the rain that we have received over the last few days has been a help. We're starting our Wednesday with dry weather and temperatures are in the mid 70s. Highs will reach the low and mid 90s this afternoon. Yesterday, Baton Rouge only had a high of 93 degrees thanks to the increasing clouds and rain that moved through our area earlier in the afternoon. This was just one degree above the normal high of 92. With the continued rain chances throughout this week, highs will likely stay in the low to mid 90s range for the rest of the week. We'll have a mix of sunshine and clouds today, but a few showers and thunderstorms will move through our area this afternoon and move out by this evening. Our area is under a marginal risk for severe weather. A few strong to severe thunderstorms could move through our area this afternoon and evening. We won't have widespread rain today so some of you might end up staying dry. However, still be prepared by having your rain gear with you before leaving home this morning. Thursday's rain coverage will be a little higher. Numerous showers and thunderstorms will move across our area that day. Showers could develop well before sunrise and continue moving through our area for the duration of the morning. A midday lull in the rain is possible before additional showers and thunderstorms move through in the afternoon and evening. There’s a slight risk for flash flooding tomorrow as well. Friday morning will be mostly dry with the exception of a few isolated showers that could be in our area during the morning commute. Shower and storm activity will increase in the afternoon and evening. Saturday and Sunday mornings will be mainly dry. Spotty showers and thunderstorms will be around in the afternoons and evenings.
