On March 23, 2020, during the webinar by Friends of the Earth Europe and TNI, we discussed three examples of transformative change.
Olatz Azurza Zubizarreta from the citizens' cooperative Goiener Taldea spoke about how they've built popular support, their innovative democratic decision-making and working group model, including paid workers and volunteers.
Andres Soto from the Richmond Progressive Alliance (RPA) spoke about the strategies and actions to fight against Chevron and their engagements with the regional "community choice aggregation" programme.
Andrij Zinchenko from the cooperative "Solar Town" project in Slavutych and spoke about their key strategies, actions and results.
TRANSFORMATIVE CITIES is an opportunity for progressive local governments, municipal coalitions, social movements and civil society
organizations to popularize and share their experiences of building
solutions to our planet’s systemic economic, social, political and
ecological crises. The initiative draws on the emerging wave of
transformative practices and responses taking place at municipal level
worldwide, by launching a unique platform and award process that will
facilitate the wider dissemination of the lessons and inspiration from
such practices.
