The James Webb Space Telescope has captured an amazing photo of Uranus, the seventh planet in our solar system. This new image shows Uranus' faint dusty rings in unprecedented detail, which were only previously captured by the Voyager 2 spacecraft and the Keck Observatory. Uranus is unique because it spins on its side at an extreme angle of 98 degrees from the plane of its orbit. This means its poles experience years of continuous sunlight followed by years of total darkness, causing extreme seasonal changes. The image also reveals six of Uranus' 27 known moons, making it even more exciting. It's amazing to think that this image was taken in just 12 minutes with only two filters. NASA says it is just the tip of the iceberg of what Webb can do when observing this mysterious planet.
