Weather in Space Engineers looks much better than it did in the first game. While talking about Rain might be boring, it actually looks really, really good! As you can see on-screen, the weather looks much better than in the first game. As you head deeper into the storm, your visibility is reduced. This will change how you fly around in ships.
This weather type is limited to biomes that make sense. You won’t be seeing rain in the desert. Sandstorms are looking good. These seriously reduce visibility on planets where these can take place. Again, think about the biomes here.
Of course, one of the best “weather” systems is the in-game Meteor. These can happen on any of the planets inside the game. They won’t specifically target players or grids, making them very random, but they still do damage. I actually think these look fantastic. Yes, they can damage ships! I hope we get settings like the Extreme Armageddon mode again.
