We are so excited to finally be sharing the experience on this unbelievable island known as K'gari / Fraser Island - this place is INCREDIBLE and such a unique side of Queensland you have to see to believe. For these few days we stayed in some beautiful accommodation with a resort feel and took the best tour on the island.
What makes K'gari so special? It's the world's largest sand island at 123km long, home to the world's purest colony of wild dingoes, ancient rainforest grows directly from sand, freshwater lakes sitting 100 metres above sea level, and one of the most photographed shipwrecks in the country... and that feels like just the beginning.
We stayed at Kingfisher Bay Resort and highly recommend you do the same, it's in the ideal spot right at the wharf and this is where the Illumina light projection show is as well:

Definitely do the Beauty Spots tour if you plan to visit! We got to drive on 75 Mile Beach, check out the Maheno Shipwreck, Eli Creek, Central Station rainforest, and finish up at the stunning Lake McKenzie. Add in a buffet lunch and an incredible guide in Dave and we're now experts on the island 😂
