Join us as we visit Chessington World of Adventures and attend the Vampire rollercoasters 35th birthday celebrations.
To start to day we got a first train ride on the awesome Vampire.
The Vampire coaster was built in 1990 by Arrow Dynamics and featured enclosed swinging trains which had bat styling. The ride was then heavily modified by Vekoma in 2002, and had swinging floorless trains fitted which give the riders a more thrilling experience.
As part of the Vampire birthday celebrations, we started by collecting our Vampire VIP lanyards from the Chessington Hotel. These lanyards featured a qr code which allowed us to then send some questions to the VIP team which would then be read out during the q&a.
We then were ushered to the Temple restaurant in the adoining Azteca Hotel, were we were treated to a full hot buffett lunch along with Vampire themed desserts.
After lunch we then assembled in the serengeti suite in the Chessington hotel and were given Cocktails and mocktails which featured the Vampire logo.
We then had an hour q&a session in the conference room with the man the legend himself Mr John Wardley. He answered a range of questions that had been sent through and was really engrossing and entertaining.
Following on from the q&a John then spent an hour or so meeting everyone and signing autographs.
The event was really good and it was awesome to meet John again. However the cost of the tickets (£125) each for Merlin pass holders was very steep and was probally higher than it should have been for the event.
Kudos to the awesome @BenandHolliesTPA for winning two prizes during the post q&a quiz.
Such an awesome day was had by all spent with some amazing friends. :-)
