Black Flame is.... interesting. It applies a damage over time effect, based on your opponent's max HP. This makes it more effective the tankier your opponent.

This makes it increasingly effective the higher your NG cycle.

That said, we won't be looking at PvE today. PvP it is. And its effectiveness in PvP is... iffy. Black Flame Tornado is amazing, and Black Flame Ritual covers your ass when nothing else will.

But try landing Noble Presence. Go ahead. I dare you. I landed it twice in this video, but that's because my opponent was almost directly above me. The vertical range is good, but the horizontal range simply sucks.

Black Flame Blade is really interesting. It has a very short cast time, working like a drawstring grease / resin bundle. Like those, it can be cast between animations. And like those, the duration is shorter than this game's current life expectancy.

All of this for a damage over time effect that sucks against players, quite frankly.

But hey, it looks cool. And that's what we're about.
