We traveled to Alaska in the winter... are we insane? Our first few days in Alaska were spent exploring the Fairbanks area and included a combined 7 driving hours. How were the roads? What did we find? Did we freeze?
Fairbanks ended up being the perfect jumping off point for several destinations that were an hour+ each outside of town, all in different directions. Fairbanks is located in the aurora oval as well, which upped our chances for some northern lights views.
