When our Alaska cruise stopped in Ketchikan, we skipped the crowded excursions and ended up finding one of our favorite experiences of the entire trip. From towering totem poles and lush rainforest trails to learning about Alaska's wildlife and history from a local guide, this unexpected day turned into something we'll never forget.
Along the way we explored Totem Bight State Historical Park, searched for wildlife, discovered a geocache in the middle of the rainforest, wandered historic Creek Street, and even squeezed in a little last-minute souvenir shopping before racing back to the ship.
If you're planning an Alaska cruise, this might just convince you to spend a day exploring Ketchikan a little differently.
