The most vulnerable area on a Sony camera in the rain is the hot-shoe area and the pins found inside the MI shoe (multi-interface shoe). A few years ago, Sony Pro Service designed and made up a really cool hot-shoe cover that was made of hard plastic (hot shoe insert), soft rubber (covered the entire hot-shoe area on top of the camera), and metal (it was a nice touch as so many shooters set their cameras down upside down on a mono-pod and this added even more protection than the plastic and rubber parts). But this hot-shoe protective cover has never been issued again at any event that I'm aware of or been made for sale by Sony for photographers to give the added protection it provides. We just want to be able to buy what has already existed. Please, Sony, take our money!!!!
