This is one of our NERD line coral albino Water Monitors (Varanus salvator), and she's egg bound. She has never been bred, but her body started cycling anyway and she produced a clutch of infertile eggs, and now she's unable to pass them, which is a problem that happens with monitors. A good comparison would be a human baby that's breech. Eggs that stay inside her start to break down and can turn septic, and if she can't get them out it can kill her.
Kevin gave her a little lidocaine and went in through the body wall with a large gauge syringe to drain the eggs down, so she has a chance of passing them. After that he put her in water with calcium and D3 so she stays hydrated and her muscles have what they need to push. The next day he was able to work one of the eggs out by hand, and we're still working with her every day. We'll keep you posted on how she does.
