Boxer had dominated the entire Gauntlet.
They won every qualifying round and looked like the strongest squad in the lobby.
Then we met them in the Final.
Contract. One squad vs one squad. Eliminate the opposition to win.
The opening was aggressive. Boxer took the first kill, we fought back, and eventually built a 9-5 lead.
That's when we changed the game.
We didn't need to chase them anymore.
Give them the middle.
Take the rooftops.
Spread out.
Create crossfires.
Make THEM come looking for US.
Boxer had been winning gunfights all tournament — so we stopped giving them the fights they wanted.
As the clock disappeared, they became increasingly desperate.
They chased.
They flanked.
They started firing RPGs into our buildings trying to force us out.
We kept repositioning, giving ground when necessary and making them expose themselves for every kill.
With 60 seconds remaining, the instruction was simple:
Keep retreating. Keep the cover. Make them make the mistakes.
Final score: 11-7.
Sometimes you don't need to outgun the other team.
You just need to outplay them.
