STALKER 2 Update 2.0 has changed how A-Life appears to work—but what is genuinely happening beyond the player’s roughly 100-meter active radius?

Using ShayTech’s new A-Life tracking tool, we can follow NPCs across the Zone, observe the transition between online and offline A-Life, and see distant battles, looting, weapon switching, patrols, and NPCs reacting to gunfire. We can also see the limitations: offline activity can be incredibly slow, some regions remain quiet, and the active A-Life bubble seemingly hasn’t increased.

A-Life isn’t fake, but it also isn’t the enormous simulation some players imagined. Update 2.0 appears to improve how its smaller background simulation reaches the player through more believable encounters, deeper looting, better patrols, and fewer obvious close-range spawns.
