In this video, we transform a $50 curio cabinet into a high-end display piece using epoxy, paint, and LED lighting. This DIY cabinet makeover shows how to repair old furniture, create custom resin shelves, and fix real mistakes along the way while achieving a professional finish on a budget.
A local family was getting rid of their grandmother’s curio cabinet for $50…so we decided to see what would happen if we tried to bring it back to life.
What started as a simple cabinet makeover turned into:
– warped wood
– bad resin moments
– unexpected mistakes
– and a few “oh no” situations
…but somehow, it all came together.
This build is about more than just flipping furniture - it’s about problem solving, adapting when things go wrong, and pushing a DIY project further than it probably should go.
We used epoxy, custom-built shelves, and LED lighting to completely transform this cabinet into something that actually feels high-end…without blowing the budget.
Total cost: ~$400 all in.
