“We are just heartbroken.” That was the reaction from the National Parks Conservation Association after bulldozers moved through Big Bend National Park, and now the work has suddenly stopped. U.S. Customs and Border Protection Commissioner Rodney Scott says he has paused all construction activity inside the park while he heads to Big Bend for a personal, on-the-ground evaluation.
