Washington, D.C. is one of those places we’ve seen countless times on TV, in history books, and in movies… but experiencing it in person is completely different.
In this episode, we celebrate America’s 250th as we try to navigate Washington, D.C., in our oversized van. And let’s just say… the day did not start exactly as planned. What was supposed to be a simple parking plan quickly turned into a stressful situation that had us scrambling before one of the biggest tours of our trip.
But once we made it into the city, the day became so much more than just a tour. From walking through places filled with American history, to unexpected moments along the National Mall, to quiet reflections at Arlington National Cemetery, this visit reminded us just how much meaning is packed into Washington, D.C.
And just when we thought we had experienced the highlights, a last-minute decision led us to one of the most beautiful places we almost missed.
