WCW had no shortage of ridiculous gimmicks. Some were hidden away on WCW Saturday Night, WCW Worldwide and the syndicated shows, and that's the characters and gimmicks covered in today's video.
We’re looking at WCW’s forgotten gimmicks; the weird B-show characters, the short-lived tag teams and strange ideas that somehow made it onto World Championship Wrestling television. We’ve got Cobra seeking revenge after being abandoned in the jungle during the Gulf War (!), State Patrol enforcing the law one wrist lock at a time, The Gambler taking on Glacier in his WCW debut, Art Barr as The Juicer, The Patriots, Horshu before he became Luther Reigns, The Wrecking Crew, The Blackhearts, Minotaur and more.
Some of these gimmicks were bad. Some were barely around long enough to unpack their bags. A few had talented wrestlers trapped inside awful ideas,bBut they all say something about WCW in the 90s... a company that could be brilliant, baffling, hilarious and completely out of its mind (sometimes all on the same episode).
