The Spellsword class is a lot like Lexi from Mage Gauntlet. He has faster attacks, but with a shorter range. Also, his charge attack doesn't barrel through enemies quite like Lexi could. He gets different items than Lexi did, allowing you to change his abilities. For example, the Scirocco Saber changes his charging attack into a powerful but mostly stationary spinning move. Another example is that he can get a pair of bracers that changes his dash ability into a teleporting Blink.
Here's a few levels worth of the Spellsword running around the early levels. There's a couple of Emberforge upgrades and also he runs into an Altar. The Altars provide different buffs that last either for one level, or until you're hit too many times. The one in this video provides a movement speed and energy bonus, and others include a critical hit (chance for double damage) bonus or one that simply prevents you from getting hurt for a few hits.
