The Greatest Video Essay of the 1970s

I was made aware of this program "Ways of Seeing" with John Berger from 1972 thanks to @InstantNoodleVEVO (looking forward to his AI video)—
who linked the full upload from @ongki6756 , whom I'm very grateful for posting.

Because it made such an impact on me, I wanted to share it again, by polishing it up my own way to further emphasize it's meaning.
These two major changes make for a different experience, a "reproduction" as John Berger explains in this program, so by all means "be skeptical of it."

1) I ran it through Adobe Podcast to clean up the audio. It's not perfect, and I weave the original audio in and out at my discretion.

2) I redid the closed captions with formatting and timing to my liking, and also burned them into this video. I didn't want YouTube to mess them up or for people to miss them. This is still done by ear, I miss a couple things, ultimately I found them worth editing manually.

(you may notice for ep1 a third change: when he demonstrates paintings as "silent and still," and forfeits the idea of making them still bc of analog film, I freeze those parts digitally to get just a little closer to what he was attempting to reproduce)

This upload is mostly for easy sharing on my part. If you're bothered by either of the choices made with this reproduction, by all means watch the original instead: youtube.com/watch?v=8wxRxSfhw6I
