Atlas Reverb is Waves' take on the classic rack-style digital reverbs that shaped decades of record production, combining multiple reverb behaviours, reflection structures, modulation styles, and depth characteristics into one plugin. Rather than chasing acoustic realism, it leans into the musical, larger-than-life spaces that made the originals so useful on real mixes, with lush, chorused tails and impossible but flattering geometries.
On snare, we go straight to a classic 80s style cannon shot sound in just a few clicks from the preset browser. In the main video we go further on a synth arpeggio, Atlas Reverb's simple two-band EQ is enough to thin out and brighten short tails, keeping the space controlled without losing width. On vocals, we use the built-in ducker to carve out room for the topline so the reverb supports the performance instead of fighting it.
