Wave Race 64 Theme Remix -
I could not be more thrilled to introduce a new collaborator to the channel: Ian Cowell!!! ๐ธ
Ian is a phenomenal guitarist in the VGM scene โ I first discovered him performing at MAGFest 2023. His performance was titled "Ian Cowell & His Band of Exceptional Goblins" โ with a name like that I couldn't possibly pass that up! Lo & behold, this guy starts jamming some of my favorite nostalgic tunes with some of the best musicians I've ever heard!
I then got to see him perform again at VGMCon 2023 & most recently saw his performance at MAGFest 2024; I could not help myself but to reach out so we could produce this epic cover of the Wave Race 64 Opening Theme! Not to mention, this is one of his favorite songs ๐
As somebody who primarily produces electronic music, I look up to musicians that can actually play an instrument; I'm continuously told that DJing is equivalent to playing a live instrument, but I still feel like it's not the same. I will admit, it's nice to hold an instrument to actually play notes & chords to a remix! This is also my first time recording with a green screen, so I apologize for my awkwardness, haha. I think I nailed it, though! ๐

The idea of remixing Speed Highway actually came up while I was randomly playing Sonic Generations; I looked up the OST & never realized the Classic remix was produced by Cash Cash!! Theyve been a huge inspiration of mine in the electronic music world, and was instantly motivated to produce my own version!
