2.2 Water: Water as Blood Tranport
Understanding that:
-Water is a great solvent; meaning that it allows things - solutes - to be dissolved in it
-Blood is mainly made of water
- Water in blood allows for the transportation in the body including glucose, amino acids, cholesterol, fats, oxygen and sodium chloride, depending on their solubility in water
-Glucose and Amino Acids are polar, so they are dissolved and transported in the plasma
-Oxygen is non-polar, s they didn't dissolve enough in the plasma and thus is carried around by haemoglobin
-Cholesterol and fats are non-polar and insoluble in water
