REST OF THE WEEKEND We expect morning fog and a mix of sunshine with a few heavy morning clouds before temperatures warm into the 70s on Sunday. A milder airmass brings highs down into the 70s this week in the Triad and Foothills with chilly 40s expected through middle of the week. Mountain valleys and western slopes may dip into the upper 30s by Thursday and Friday mornings. Tropical Storm Milton formed in the Gulf of Mexico on Saturday afternoon. Milton is forecast to impact Florida’s west coast as a Category 2 or 3 hurricane by midweek. The storm is expected to linger in the southwestern Gulf of Mexico until Tuesday. By Wednesday, it may make landfall near Tampa on Florida’s west coast before racing over Orlando and weakening. This is distressing news for many of Florida’s residents as they are recovering from Helene’s Big Bend landfall a little more than one week ago. Heavy rainfall, storm surge, and catastrophic flooding are possible
