the recently concluded ANA Avatar X Prize Technology Contest seeks to spur the development of robots and other cutting-edge concepts and technology. Many international teams competed to present the most technologically sophisticated robot avatar during the event. Based on the French and Japanese laboratories JRL and LIRMM, the Japanese team Janus brought about one of the most intriguing and promising advances.
