Singer-songwriter Riley Downing draws on his rural roots for his new album, "Landfill Poetry," out Friday from the record label founded by the late music legend John Prine. Downing, who is also a member of the band The Deslondes, tells stories from his days working as a trash man, and much more.

His song "Helen & Gene" is a tribute to his grandparents.

With his Grand Ole Opry debut coming in September, Downing previewed part of his new work for PBS News' Geoff Bennett.
