A Southlake police officer rescued a man unharmed as his car caught fire on the highway in Southlake, Texas.
The officer, Corporal Joshua Swisher, responded to a vehicle with heavy smoke coming from it while on a routine traffic stop on State Highway 114.
Dashcam and bodycam videos show flames suddenly erupting from underneath the car as Corporal Swisher moved towards the burning vehicle, screaming "Get out of the car." He then pulled the driver to safety and helped prevent a tragic outcome.
The intense moments were captured on body camera and dashcam footage, showing the officer's quick response during the emergency on June 7th.
For his courage, quick thinking, and decisive actions, Corporal Joshua Swisher received the Southlake Police Department's Meritorious Conduct Award.
