- Healing Chicken Soup Recipe -
Ingredients: Carrots, celery, onion, garlic, fresh rosemary and thyme (it HAS to be fresh, not dry, just trust me), half a lemon, protein of choice (I do chicken), potatoes (or noodles), peas, broth (chicken or vegetable), spices (garlic powder or salt, paprika, turmeric, allspice, salt and pepper to taste), and a slurry of flour and water to thicken the soup.
Directions:
- Saute the carrots, celery, and onion until they are almost fully cooked and the onions are translucent.
- Add in the fresh herbs, spices, and a squeeze of juice from a lemon. Be extremely generous with your spices, almost to the point where you feel like you are over-seasoning the vegetables because once you add the broth, it's going to dull that seasoning way back down. Saute for another 1-2 minutes.
- Add in the fresh garlic. Saute until the garlic becomes fragrant (about 1-2 minutes)
- Add in broth of choice. Let this concoction simmer for as long as possible to marry all the spices together and make your house smell nice.
- Add in your cooked protein, cooked potatoes (or noodles) and peas. Let it all swim together for a bit.
- Add a slurry to thicken up your soup. A slurry is usually just flour and water beaten together so that there are no clumps. Slowly add that slurry to your soup and stir.
- Add in your intention of this soup healing your tired and aching bones, seeping all the way into to your spirit.
- Serve with warm, crispy bread!
