This is one of my morning warmup paintings in my sketchbook. It began with a single line drawing of a figure. I used Inktense pencils, watercolor, acrylic paint and ink on mixed media paper. The sketchbook is 10x7.6 inches.

The figure of a girl stands amidst dense foliage. Behind her is a path toward a home. The butterflies in her hair represent transition. It is up to her if she will choose the path toward the comfort of a home.
