National Astronomy Week livestream at 7pm
Join astronomy experts from the UK and Cyprus as the Royal Astronomical Society (RAS) celebrates National Astronomy Week with a special evening event on Monday 3 February, featuring live footage of the Moon, Mars and Jupiter.
Author Dr Alexandra Loske and Dr Robert Massey, of the RAS, will open the programme by setting the scene for how our understanding of our nearest neighbour developed over time – and its marked impact on our culture.
Astronomer Agapios Elia, of 1010 Cosmos and a member of the Troodos Observatory team, will then showcase realtime imagery of the lunar surface and planets, including craters, mountains, weather systems on Jupiter and the polar cap of Mars.
The evening is a free online event.
