This week We expect morning fog and mostly sunny skies with temperatures warming into the upper 70s to near 80 degrees on Monday. A milder airmass brings highs down into the lower 70s this week in the Triad and Foothills with chilly 40s for morning lows expected through the middle of the week. Mountain valleys and western slopes may dip into the upper 30s by Thursday and Friday mornings with low to mid-60s for highs. Hurricane Milton intensified into a Category 1 Hurricane just 24 hours after it became a tropical storm in the Gulf of Mexico on Sunday afternoon. Milton is forecast to directly impact Florida’s west coast as a Category 3 or 4 hurricane by Wednesday. The storm is expected to linger in the southern Gulf of Mexico until Tuesday where it may bring hurricane force winds and torrential rain to Cancun and the Yucatan Peninsula. By Wednesday evening, the storm is forecast to make landfall between Tampa and Fort Meyer’s on Florida’s west coast.
