Wat Phra Pathom Chedi is the tallest (395 feet) chedi (stupa) in Thailand, and perhaps in the world. It is located a few miles outside of Bangkok in the Nakhon Pathom Province. The chedi is a beautiful Sri Lanka style bell-shaped gold brick chedi, which features the Lord Buddha's relics, but visitors are not allowed inside the chedi. This is the third chedi built on this site. Visitors can walk around and see the Buddhist monks, as well as a very holy temple with a gilted standing Buddha image.
