Daylilies are fantastic - plant them once, they produce forever, divide them every other year or so, and they just keep going. The flowers are wonderful to eat fresh - but they CAN be preserved by dehydrating or drying, to be used in stir fry and soups later. Known as gum jum choi or 'Golden Needles', they have been a highly prized vegetable crop for thousands of years.
