After Emma Nelson’s shot made it 10-7, Meghan Dizon hit the ball and it ended up going into the crowd. She was handed an automatic orange card.

The moment drew comparisons to Novak Djokovic’s infamous 2020 US Open default, when he was disqualified after hitting a ball in frustration that struck a line judge.

For Dizon, the penalty awarded the Chicago Slice a point, ending the game 11-7.
