When we think about great works of literature or books that have stood the test of time, we often think of centuries, like "19th century lit" or location such as "Russian literature", but one thing people rarely talk about is particular decades.
That got me thinking, what was the best decade for literature? I'm not sure if it's the 1980s, because as of yet, I haven't sat down look at every single decade since the beginning of time, but one time period that immediately came to mind is the 1980s.
Particularly in American literature, there were many books published in the 1980s that are still widely read and discussed in 2025 and beyond.
So in today's video, I cover some of the most influential books of the 1980s.
