Team: Benkei, Xingcai, Hanzo Hattori
You have two targets to defeat in this level: Fu Xi in the north-west corner and Nobunaga Oda in the north-east corner. I took this specific team since they're the best infinite jumpers as far as pure height gain is considered, plus Benkei is helpful for fast navigation across the level.
0:04 - dialogue skipping in this early part works in a slightly weird way. Skipping a little bit of dialogue helps save a bit of time with how the messages line up at the first gate. However, if you skip too much, you will mess up Benkei speed boost timing for the rest of the level.
0:30 - for the optimal timing, defeat Nobutada Oda right before Fu Xi's dialogue disappears.
0:38 - you can ready Benkei for another speed boost while waiting for the gates to open.
Afterwards, there's an infinite jump over a closed garrison gate. You'd normally have to defeat a number of ambush officers and wait a bit of dialogue here, so it's faster to go over. The perfect jump is two Xingcai specials and two Hanzo Hattori specials. I lost a ton of different attempts from random height loss that can naturally occur while doing these infinite jump combos - very annoying. At the very end, I try to angle Benkei so that his air special leans towards the left, closer to my next objective.
0:50 - optimal Benkei timing means you get another speed boost right afterwards. Sadly, it's not a guarantee.
0:56 - defeating Fu Xi is pretty simple. Just be ready to skip his dialogue as it begins, prepare Benkei for another speed boost and also take care to not get hit by random enemies all of a sudden while waiting for the next gate to open.
(I didn't try if it could be faster to infinite jump over the gate while waiting, but the wait didn't seem too big. I guess if the gate is very tiny, it could be faster. Worth a try for a future improvement, I suppose?
Another alternative that might be useful to consider is defeating Fu Xi from outside the garrison with some character who can attack through walls. Although I suspect this would be slower overall.)
1:18 - from there, it's just a beeline to Nobunaga Oda.
1:29 - a small infinite jump is necessary to get over the closed gate. Rarely Benkei can get stuck in some small space on top of the gate, which will probably ruin the run attempt.
1:34 - I guess a more optimal finish to the level would be Benkei speed boosting right next to Oda, then unleashing switch attack and a regular attack on him. But this was quite good too.
