...I'm nearly speechless by the fact that I technically did finish this MAP part within a month! (Granted I got an extension, though but still!)
Some of you might have barely any idea what this part is about and if you haven't read Vision of Shadows (6th series) already, I highly recommend! I'm only half way through the series (as the place I ordered Darkest Night (4th book) from hasn't still sent it over to me c: ) but I have been loving it every word of it! Also the fact that SkyClan is FINALLY brought back to the main Clans makes me super excited as they have always been my favorite Clan ♥
If you have read Vision of Shadows, this scene might be familiar~ This animation bit is based on the moment from Thunder and Shadow (2nd book) when Darktail takes over ShadowClan before Rowanstar manages to lead his Clan to the Gathering :3
I really love Darktail's character as a villain! Sure, I'd never want to come across such a character that he is but everything that's packed into his personality is in my opinion something that every major villain should have! Granted his character might be considered classic by the storytelling terms but his character was honestly super refreshing to see and bring back ACTUAL meaning on villainous Warriors character~
But the way he balances with between being cruel and manipulative to complete act mode of "kindness" is really fond to see!
Again, I'd never like to meet such a person in real life but as a character, Darktail has really hit my sweet spot l3
The struggles ShadowClan goes through in the 6th series is also super interesting to see! I'll be looking forwards to reading whether they can settle these issues within their Clan or will ShadowClan be taking the shortest end of the sticks shared for the Clans...?
Enough of me blabering about Vision of Shadows~
Lets move onto this MAP part!
For being 1 month MAP, I had to cut out some content from some parts of the animation in order to meet that 1 month deadline. For starters (and the most obvious one to notice) is that I left out shading the characters. Granted not all the animations need to be shaded but I often prefer to shade my animations for the sake of having some depth and more feel of life in them~ (I guess I also do that for the sake of prettiness for the animation but that's minor detail)
Secondly I'd have liked to add some (simple) movement to the background characters but that didn't happen either xD Instead I decided to thrive for very extreme expressions (which this part has a lot of compared to my normal work in general) to show off the shock of the situation for ShadowClan cats and some victorious feel for The Kin characters~
In the end whether I cut the corners or not, animation was my main attention where I wanted to place most/all my attention! 1 month isn't exactly a lot for an animation (although it's manageable!)
There are some parts in this MAP part that I'm super happy and proud of and then minor parts that...bother me personally a bit I: But that's alright? I guess...?
Overall with all its cons and flaws I'm really REALLY glad and happy that I'm done with it and I hope that the host of the MAP likes it as well!^^
