This makes it harder to solve, as it has fewer solution (how many) than the 240 solutions of the regular Soma Cube. Moreover, the warped shape of the pieces causes disorientation.

A gear with 180-degrees symmetry is said to have two-fold rotational symmetry. The green egg-shaped gear has 360-degrees one-fold symmetry. For a 360-degrees turn of the green egg-shaped gear, the smaller red gear rotates by 720 degrees. Following the earlier naming logic, this gear has half-fold rotational symmetry. In order to make the cardioid-like gearing, the red gear has two layers. The teeth pattern continues from the bottom layer to the top and back to the bottom.
