Most people who vanish in national parks are never found. That’s a fact—not a theory, not a campfire story. Every year, hikers go missing in places we consider safe, well-mapped, family-friendly. The official reports say dehydration, bad footing, wrong turns. That’s the script.
But every now and then, someone comes back. And when they do, what they remember doesn’t fit the report.
This story comes from one of them. A man who hiked into the Grand Canyon with his wife—experienced, well-equipped, careful. They weren’t the kind of people who got lost. But something found them. Something that watched. That followed.
And for three nights, it didn’t let them go.
