I tried to have a go at T4 Survival using melee only (except to kill death orbs) and I feel I made it pretty far, considering how squishy Saryn is.
At around 20 minutes (so soon!) I started to feel the pressure and I had to move around a lot to sort of avoid big groups of enemies (which is not productive in Survival). At that point, I knew I couldn't go beyond 30 minutes or so.
So for the remaining 10 minutes, I just sauntered along, trying my best not to die, all the while sticking to melee. I did try to Spore a bit, to see if I could get some energy back at all. Considering I was using a 100% effeciency build, it proved to be mostly futile but I'm sure if you drop Contagion Cloud (I was using it only for S&G) and put in a Streamline or Fleeting, you'd be able to make it to 40 minutes.
It's a bit thrilling to do and maybe I'll make another attempt sans Contagion Cloud in the near future.
