Much like Inaros, Chroma didn't need any real help from the Helminth system. His biggest downside was that he himself didn't distribute a lot of damage. His first ability was also bloody useless. So by replacing that ability with Empower you draw more from your Vex Armoring, and Elemental Ward.
On top of that, you can also pull a significant amount of health back from your weapons. :DISCLAIMER: if you are not satisfied with the Euphona Prime showcased in this build, simply use the Furis with its New Loka Augment which grants +Purity this will ensure that your ENTIRE LOADOUT grants lifesteal.
