Thirty-five years after the failed Martian invasion of 1953, humanity has largely forgotten the threat, dismissing it as a "selective amnesia" event. However, the alien invaders were not killed by Earth's bacteria, but rather fell into a state of deep hibernation. When a terrorist group accidentally irradiates a waste dumpsite at Fort Jericho, the radiation kills the bacteria, reviving the comatose aliens.
