The #Jugger Shield and Short Sword is a very special, and interesting combination in Jugger play. While it looks a bit medieval, it's handling differs greatly from HEMA and re-enactment fencing.
In this Uhus Jugger Tutorials Impressions, I wrapped up the impressions I have with playing the shield, to give new players an insight on what should be important when choosing the shield as your favourite spar.

(++ Deutsche Untertitel ++) Make your own #Jugger #DIY #Staff (#Stab) in 1-2 hours, the modern, fast, light(ish) version. Most is applicable for Jugger Longswords, Short Swords, and Q-Tips as well. This is for a more robust club build.

Youll need:
Cutter, tape (strong), double-sided tape, 2m pullwinded fiberglass orf carbon pipe (fe. 16x12), 1m thick tube insulation (fe. 15x25), 1m small tube insulation (fe. 15x15) , scissors, measure, marker pen, saw, mouthpeace (for sawing), mattress foam ca 60mmx50mm, yoga / sleeping mat.
I would recommend using clear tape and pool noodle to save weight if you are making a private staff. For clubs, the stronger tape might be more durable test ongoing :)
UPDATE: Some numbers:
Weight without tape 400g
Weight with strong tape 460g
Weight with clear tape 410g (!)
(Strong tape weight tag padding - 90cm x4 : ca 40g; block padding: ca 10g)
=Significant weight reduction through clear tape (50g).

Wichtig wegen sportlicher Vergleichbarkeit und Sicherheit, gehasst und gefürchtet insbesondere dann, wenn Pompfen willkürlich aussortiert zu werden scheinen.

Manu (Regelhüter, Leichtstab-Baumeister, Team NLG) und Martin (erfahrener Schiedsrichter, Male-Künstler und Baumeister, Skull! / Rethwisch) loten Sinn und Lösungen für gute Pompfenchecks aus.
Martin stellt zudem eine Reihe von einfachen, aber guten Messgeräten für schnelle und objektivere Pompfenchecks vor damit künftig die eigene Lieblingspompfe auch durchkommt!
