An early 1990s rather unconvincing PR video produced for Nabalco on mine rehabilitation and ecological management in the Gove Peninsula region, eastern Arnhem Land, NT, Australia.
The blurb reads:
"In 1968 Nabalco secured leases in remote tropical Arnhem Land to commence what was to be the biggest open cut bauxite mine in Northern Australia. Conscious of the environment and the needs of the traditional land owners, Nabalco established a rehabilitation program right from the start. Today the program is a shining example of how mined land can be returned to its natural state and how Aboriginals and the mining community can work together in harmony, each having achieved and prospered along the way."
