Today marks 17 years since I started posting my playing videos here on YouTube! Wow… 17 years really flies.
This is one of my favourite songs, Waltzing Matilda. It’s a well-known Australian folk song and is often called the 'unofficial' national anthem of Australia.
This song holds a lot of memories for me. I first played this arrangement two years ago at a school in Brisbane, where I had studied English back when I was in Year 12. One of the teachers there introduced me to the song, and I even had a chance to perform it at a nursing home near the school.
Fast forward 15 years to 2023 — I finally returned to my second home, Brisbane. I visited the school, reconnected with some of the teachers, met the students, and even had the opportunity to share my story with some of the juniors. I played this arrangement during a homeroom session.
I’m so grateful for all these precious memories. They give me the energy and inspiration to keep moving forward!
