Composed during Chopin's last years in the 19th century, it was almost a hundred years before this waltz was published in 1955. As such, it doesn't have an opus number. It is the 19th waltz composed by Chopin.
The beginning A minor theme is the main subject of the waltz, appearing multiple times in the piece. It is then counteracted by a more joyful A major theme (1:03) about halfway into the piece. It doesn't last long, and in the end the waltz is concluded like it began with a brief coda (1:54).
