From Season 4 of Walt Disney's Disneyland Anthology program we have Episode 10: The Best Doggoned Dog in the World which originally aired on November 20th, 1957. This particular version, which substitutes material from One Hundred and One Dalmatians for Old Yeller, aired on February 12th, 1961. After an entertaining survey of man's best friend, Walt Disney introduces us to a dalmatian puppy, the son of the live-action reference model for Pongo then gives a brief history of dalmatians. He continues by sharing the plot of the 1961 animated classic, complete with still images and some clips! Due to copyright, a few of the clips had to be edited. The remainder of the show is the 1955 theatrical featurette, “Arizona Sheepdog” narrated by Rex Allen.
This presentation is included in full on the Diamond Edition Blu-ray of One Hundred and One Dalmatians!
