As I considered the emotional effects of long-term social distancing, I thought about all the ways in which physical touch has been removed from our lives. That big bear hug your one friend always gives you; the casual high five after a dumb joke; the secret hand shake your kid made with their best friend. They’re all missing. This cabinet is a small reflection of the way those interactions emanate through our lives, and thus it's been titled “The Importance of Physical Touch in an Age of Digital Relationships”, or simply “Touch”.
